PHNOM PENH: In addition to the Royal Government building the Victory Monument in Phnom Penh, the Royal Government is building similar monuments across Cambodia’s provinces to serve as historical sites for the study of future generations.

 Speaking at the Phnom Penh Victory Monument in honor of the 25th Anniversary of Hun Sen’s Win-Win Policy, Defense Minister Tea Seiha said that the Victory Monument in Koh Kong is complete, while its copies in Oddar Meanchay and Pailin are at 80% and 77% completion respectively. He pledged that his ministry would promote and accelerate the completion of the two unfinished monuments.

The Defense Minister said that the government will continue to build political monuments at other historical sites to commemorate the achievements of former Prime Minister Hun Sen’s leadership so that future generations can learn and be grateful for the peace and independence brought by his 38-year reign. He said monuments will also be constructed in honor of the patriotic warriors who sacrificed their lives for the motherland. He also reminded the public about plans to build Techo Peace Parks across the nation in honor of the former PM.

He said the Ministry of National Defense will continue to promote win-win politics to government officials, the armed forces, students, and the public, especially the younger generation, so that they can better understand the meaning of win-win politics, which he said is the greatest foundation for ensuring peace, stability, security, and social order. Because of this, he said, the nation is progressing on an equal footing with other nations.
